Its that time again where the geek hits an upcoming film to be released and this week we look at one of the big blockbuster films of 2011 in Transformers: Dark Of The Moon which is following up Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen which really did not get much love from a lot of movie lovers after its release.
So did Micheal Bay do it right with this film? Did he bring the suckage back with this installment in the Transformers franchise? Lets take a look at the trailer and then my thoughts on the film.

At The Movies With The Geek: Green Lantern
Green Lantern
The Summer of 2011 has its share of superhero films and Green Lantern is one that is on the tops of a lot of lists to be seen. Myself being a fan of Green Lantern growing up I was really looking forward to seeing what they would bring to the big screen.
I will have to say my first initial thoughts after the first trailer were I was a little scared....it looked like maybe they were gonna go more for pulling the mainstream audience and make a crappy film. I was happy as more trailers were released I saw more and more that was making the geek inside happy and giving me hope that we were in store for a good film.
So what did I think? Did it suck? Did they do a good job bringing Green Lantern to the big screen? Lets check out the trailer and my thoughts.....

It's the start of summer blockbuster movie season and one of the contenders for best movie of the summer is the story of Marvel superhero and Avenger Thor: God of Thunder.
Quick Thoughts
- I really enjoyed this Film.
- Thought they did some great casting for this film.
- Make sure you stay till after the credits for a little teaser of things to come.
- A certain Avenger makes an appearance in the film. See if you can spot him.
- Must see in the theater. Lots of action and some great sound.

This past week I got a chance to be on the "Almost Locals Only" Podcast which is a podcast featuring peeps from the Bandit Network which features myself, Lost In Reviews, FrothyGirlz, and Down Right Creepy.
In this the 10th Episode we talked about Alice In Wonderland, Cop Out, compared two trailers (Iron Man 2 and Kick Ass), as well as doing some Oscar talk.

Its time for another episode of At The Movies With The Geek. This week we are gonna look at the movie "Cop Out" which was directed by Kevin Smith (but not written) and stars the likes of Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan.

For this installment of At The Movies With The Geek we are gonna looks at Shutter Island which was direceted by Martin Scorsese and staring Leonardo DiCaprio and Ben Kingsley.

Its that time for another edition of At The Movies With The Geek and this time we are looking at the new Denzel Washington movie "The Book of Eli" which also stars the always great Gary Oldman.
In The Book of Eli, Denzel Washington stars as a lone warrior named Eli, who fights his way across the desolate wasteland of near-future America to realize his destiny and deliver the knowledge that can bring civilization back from the brink of destruction and save the future of humanity.
Quick Thoughts
* Really enjoyed this movie (both of us)
* Denzel always makes a movie even better
* Some good action, a little humor, liked the story
* Nice twist
* It is a go see at the theater movie

At The Movies With The Geek : 2012
So its that time again where myself and Allison give our take on a new film hitting screens everywhere. So the film we will be look at today is 2012. Starring John Cusack it is based on the Mayan calendar and its prediction that there will be a major event on December 21st, 2012.

At The Movies With The Geek : Terminator Salvation
So Allison and I checked out the most recent Terminator movie and both of us came away enjoying the film but myself I feel when it comes to the summer flicks so far Star Trek is still king....Allison on the other hand has a stance of "apples to oranges" when it comes to comparing.
We felt there were a lot of the parts in the movie that had a feel of other films like the machines that go around capturing humans felt and even almost sounded like the ones from War of the Worlds as well as how the humans would stop the terminator machines was very matrix like.
A few thoughts
- I liked Christian Bale as John Conner
- Some great action and explosions
- Common is the man! He wears sunglasses in a battle at night!
- Glad they did a future story instead of a terminator comes back to the present
- A familiar face shows up (got a good cheer from the audience)
Anyways over all I would say it was an enjoyable film but as stated earlier Star Trek is still king of the summer movie season (at least for now).
