Happy Fathers Day!
Wanted to wish all you dads out there a Happy Fathers Day. Got to spend the weekend with my family and of course my dad.
So to all you geek and non geek dads....thanks for what you do and what you mean to all of us.
It Has Been A Good Month For (jeff)isageek.net
So today is the last day of the April and traffic/readership wise it has been the best month I have ever had.
This week alone I have had 2 days with over 1,000 page views in a day, I passed my previous monthly page view total and went over 6,000 and thanks to the 2 huge days I am about 40 page views away from hitting 8,000 in a month! To me that is awesome!!!
Now I love the stats and they are great to see where you are going but more then that I love getting content out to people about things I enjoy or events and such i get to experience. I have made some great friends, learned about a lot of kool things and been able to attend some great events just because of this blog.
So I pretty much wanted to write this post to say thank you to everyone who follows my posts, comments, or shares the things I throw up on here. You guys are the best!

Happy Holidays From (jeff)isageek
First I just wanna say happy holidays to everyone out there on the interweb and hope you have a great holiday season whatever your beliefs are.
It has been a great year for me getting the chance to go to some great tech events, meetups, and I have met some awesome people this year who I will continue to work with and get to know even better in 2009.
Today Allison and I decided to put up the Christmas tree and put up some decorations around the house. So I thought why not put a little video and share it with everyone who follows my blog.
So here ya go!
Walk The Vote
Decided since my voting location was so close that I would walk to do my civic duty. Not only did I get to vote for the next president but I got to get a little exercise and help myself as well as my country.
He is the little video I took along the way.....
Dont forget to vote...you still have time. Help make our country a better place.
AMC Preview of “Fork And Screen”
Last week I got a great opportunity to check out AMC Theatres new attraction called "Fork and Screen" which steps up what you would normally consider a night at the movies.
It not only adds a menu to your visit to your next feature film but also adds some extra features like reclining chairs, swivel tables, eye candy while walking the halls, and a full bar to enjoy during your stay.
I must say AMC has done an awesome job enhancing the movie watching experience while not really adding a lot of extra expense. The new non suite theaters are actually the same price as a normal ticket and you get an upgraded experience from what we have been use to over the years and for just 10 bucks more you get the really kool theater with the 2 person cinema suite for the ultimate in relaxation.
I took a few videos while I was there and thought I would share them with ya......
First is as you enter the "Fork and Screen" experience (you must be at least 18 or have an adult with you to enter)
Next we have a preview of the AMC Cinema Suites with the really kool chairs....
If you get a chance to check out the services go for it....Allison and I had a great time and we wanted to thank AMC for getting the chance to check it out.
AMC’s “Fork & Screen” Preview Tonight
A few weeks back I got a kool invite to check out AMC Theatres new concept called "Fork & Screen" which brings two favorite things of mine together in movies and eating! So tonight I will be heading over to the AMC Studio 30 in Olathe to check the new services out and will for sure be reporting back to everyone via twitter and snapping some pics.
Guests of Fork & Screen and Cinema Suites will be able to enjoy in-theatre dining combined with the most current movies and other types of entertainment, presented in the immersive, big-screen viewing environment of an AMC theatre. Both Fork & Screen and Cinema Suites will feature in-theatre Seat-Side ServiceTM, where moviegoers will have the opportunity to order from a diverse menu of appetizers, sandwiches, entrees, desserts, beer, wine and cocktails, as well as traditional theatre concessions.
Fork & Screen will feature eight auditoriums reserved for guests 18-years-old and over and minors accompanied by a parent or guardian, where patrons will enjoy their entertainment in an intimate setting, with soft, comfortable seating and table-top dining.
For the ultimate in luxury moviegoing at an affordable price, AMC guests 21-years-old and over can upgrade to one of three Cinema Suites auditoriums featuring reserved seating.
Tonight we will be getting a tour of the new setup they have been working on for the past few months, get to ask any questions we might have, as well as catch a screening of Guy Ritchie’s new film “RocknRolla”.
Along with my twitter posts I will work on a review and what I thought of everything which should pop up on the blog in a couple of days and if you have any questions you would like me to ask tonight please feel free to shoot me a tweet.
“The Shave” – Making A Change
I decided to shave my beard tonight and go for a different look. recorded a before and after and loaded it on 12seconds. Here are the videos below:
BEFORE
me - before the shave on 12seconds.tv
AFTER

So what do you think? Let me know.
Our New Addition To The Family
Yesterday Allison and I welcomed our new redbud tree into the family and placed it in front of the house.
It was an adventure getting it home and in the ground but now it is here for all to see...and will soon have some friends joining it in our little flower bed type deal we have created. (pics to come of course)
Heart Walk – Help A Geek Raise Some Money For A Good Cause

Hey everyone this coming May 31st I will be walking with a team to help raise money for the American Heart Association and I need your help!!! If you have a few dollars to spare I would love to have your donation that will go toward helping fight the #1 and #3 killers of people yearly.
You're Making a Difference. Since 1924 the American Heart Association has helped protect people of all ages and ethnicities from the ravages of heart disease and stroke. These diseases, the Nation's No.1 and No.3 killers, claim more than 910,000 American lives a year. The association invested more than $543 million in fiscal year 2005-06 for research, professional and public education, and advocacy so people across America can live stronger, longer lives.
Thanks to all our walkers, donors and volunteers who have accepted the challenge to help fight heart disease and stroke. We cannot achieve our mission without each one of you.
Anything you can give would be awesome!!! I plan to have some pics and video's and such up after the event so you can check them out. And if you have any question please feel free to email me, IM me, or shoot me a message on twitter. Also feel free to send the url out all over the net!!!!
Note : I just found out for online you have to pledge atleast $25.00 (which sucks). If you wanna pledge less you can write me a check and make it out to the "American Heart Association" or there is a form on my donation page that you can send directly to the American Heart Association in Kansas City if you are doing under $25]
Also if you feel comfortable you can just paypal me a donation to jeffisageek at gmail dot com. but i understand if you dont feel comfortable just sending me your money (especially in this day and age).
THANKS EVERYONE!!!!

Chewbacca is here to stay!
As I have mentioned on twitter or my microcast our group here at work is getting ready to move to a new building and I have been cleaning out my current cube getting rid of stuff I am not interested in keeping or never use anymore. Thats where Chewie comes in to the story.
I had this Chewie Sucker that came with a holder (pictured above) that I decided I was gonna get rid of...it just sat in my desk and was like I will toss this it is really not doing anything for me...so with that I tossed him never to be seen again............
ok well maybe I would see him again
Yesterday the cleaning lady who is always commenting on my star wars stuff in my cube comes by and says someone found this and I thought you would like it....WHAT!!!! He is BACK!!! haha He will not give up!!!!
I of course didnt say anything to the lady...was just like kool and put him on my desk...so now I am like well maybe I should keep him...was that a sign?
I was thinking maybe I will give it to one of the ladies here at work for their kid or something.
So there ya go....thought that was a funny story about getting rid of something and it coming back to you anyways.
