At The Movies with the Geek: The Avengers
The day has finally come...It is Avengers Day!!! The long awaited blockbuster has been released to the masses and I am just gonna get started right now and say this movie WAS AWESOME!!!! I love, love, loved it!
There is so much action, so many fights, so many explosions, and it was a great story! ohhh and there is Galaga too!
If you have been living under a rock or just wanna get pumped up before the movie here is one of the trailers that was released to get your geeky parts tingling
I feel like Marvel has done a great job with this movie and all the movies that were released to build up to this event mixing the action, story lines, and comedy into a great franchise that sets the standard for telling these stories from the pages of comic books.
For far to long we the geeks have wanted to see our favorite characters brought to the big screen to enjoy and in most cases it really has not been successful...this movie broke that trend and even for those who are not among the geeks or comic book fans it will still blow you away... its that good!
And lets not forget in all of this the man, the myth, the legend Joss Whedon... You sir are incredible and thank you for all you did to make this as epic as possible.
I give it 5 out of 5 HULK SMASHES

At The Movies With The Geek: Transformers 3 – Dark Of The Moon
Its that time again where the geek hits an upcoming film to be released and this week we look at one of the big blockbuster films of 2011 in Transformers: Dark Of The Moon which is following up Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen which really did not get much love from a lot of movie lovers after its release.
So did Micheal Bay do it right with this film? Did he bring the suckage back with this installment in the Transformers franchise? Lets take a look at the trailer and then my thoughts on the film.

At The Movies With The Geek: Green Lantern
Green Lantern
The Summer of 2011 has its share of superhero films and Green Lantern is one that is on the tops of a lot of lists to be seen. Myself being a fan of Green Lantern growing up I was really looking forward to seeing what they would bring to the big screen.
I will have to say my first initial thoughts after the first trailer were I was a little scared....it looked like maybe they were gonna go more for pulling the mainstream audience and make a crappy film. I was happy as more trailers were released I saw more and more that was making the geek inside happy and giving me hope that we were in store for a good film.
So what did I think? Did it suck? Did they do a good job bringing Green Lantern to the big screen? Lets check out the trailer and my thoughts.....

So I just found this trailer for the new Smurf movie coming out this August. It caught my interest there would be a movie coming out since I always loved the smurf's as a kid. I am not sold yet. We shall see. What do you think?
Lord Of The Rings Extended Edition Trilogy Event
So today I found out from one of my twitter friends @srfuller that AMC Theatres is gonna have a special Lord of the Rings: Extended Edition trilogy event over 3 weeks (June 14th, 21st, and 28th) to celebrate the release of the extended editions on blu-ray coming out soon.
The most magical epic adventure in motion picture history is coming to AMC Theatres this June for a three night theatrical event series. The events will begin with a new and personal introduction for each film from The Lord of the Rings™ director Peter Jackson captured from the set of his current film, and The Lord of the Rings prequel, The Hobbit, and will be immediately followed by the Extended Edition feature presentations which altogether include nearly 3 hours of additional feature footage carefully selected by Peter Jackson.
Looks like my local AMC in Olathe will be having the event and I am seriously thinking about getting some tickets to go check it out. I would love to see the trilogy again on the big screen.

So today was the launch of the first trailer for the new Muppets movie due out around Thanksgiving this year.

At The Movies With The Geek : Thor
It's the start of summer blockbuster movie season and one of the contenders for best movie of the summer is the story of Marvel superhero and Avenger Thor: God of Thunder.
Quick Thoughts
- I really enjoyed this Film.
- Thought they did some great casting for this film.
- Make sure you stay till after the credits for a little teaser of things to come.
- A certain Avenger makes an appearance in the film. See if you can spot him.
- Must see in the theater. Lots of action and some great sound.
