So one of my new favorite channels is The Science Channel since it became one of our HD options (seems to be the only channels I will watch) and have really enjoyed the shows and such they provide.
I recently found they were on twitter as well and started to follow them.
The other day to help promote Space Week they were giving away little spacemen and I jumped on the opportunity…well the package arrived today and included with the spaceman was a pen and a coozie.
Very kool…so thank you Science Channel and keep up the great programming!
I love to check out all the Keyboard Cat videos out there and found this one to be geeky enough to throw up on the blog. Check it out! And if you are not familiar with Keyboard Cat just do a YouTube search to find videos pertaining to this meme.
I recently purchased an rss pillow from Craftsquatch and thought you know what would be kool is to get other pillows with social media themes. Well not much later I discovered you can now get pillows with the FriendFeed, Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, and Myspace logo’s!!! How kool is that?
Now I just need to get some cash together to purchase these and turn my living room into a social media mecca!
So the other day I found a link to some geeky pillows that included one with the rss logo on it. I felt that one being a geek and two loving rss it was only right that I check this stuff out.
So I clicked on the link which took me to Etsy and to what was a sight for my geeky eyes!! I thought now that is the pillow for me so with that said….I purchased it.
Here are some pics with my new geeky rss pillow
Just wanted to thank Craftquatch for the awesome pillow and I will be looking for some new geeky designs from you in the future.
Last night in the Crossroads district in Kansas City was the event that has taken place a couple times already known as the zombie walk. This is all done for fun as well as collecting food for the needy.
I had always wanted to check this out as past events seemed really kool….so this time I grabbed Allison and my camera and we headed down to take some video to share with everyone.
As expected it was a great time with a DJ down at First Fridays playing Thriller as the zombies walked by on one street and even an appearnce by the mayor of Kansas City!!
So check out the video and maybe we will see you at the next zombie walk.
Also thanks to Zach and Simon for making guest appearances in the filming.
Found this video on “The Lego Underground” as part of the Ignite series which sounds like a kool way to learn a lot in little amounts of time.
What is Ignite?
If you had five minutes on stage what would you say? What if you only got 20 slides and they rotated automatically after 15 seconds? Around the world geeks have been putting together Ignite nights to show their answers.
Ignite was started in Seattle in 2006 by Brady Forrest and Bre Pettis. Since then 100s of 5 minute talks have been given across the world. There are thriving Ignite communities in Seattle, Portland, Paris, and NYC.
This community site is sponsored by O’Reilly.
So now that you know what ignite is lets check out the presentation about on of my favorite things LEGO!
To check out some other Ignite presentations check out the YouTube page.
Movie has some potential and hey anything that has to do with geeks I am willing to give a try.

I’m not sure why everyone is so fascinated with making movies about Star Wars recently, but I don’t mind, I’ll see every last one, I’m a big Star Wars geek. I’ve actually heard of the movie 77 before, back when it was previously known as 5-25-77 – which, for those who don’t know, is the exact day that A New Hope first came out. Unlike the movie Fanboys, this is more of a coming-of-age drama than a road trip comedy. There’s also a lot of great movie references, as the story is about a wannabe filmmaker whose life changes the moment he sees Star Wars. Every true self-proclaimed geek should be watching this trailer right now.
