An Artifact From The World Trade Center Passes Through The Sprint Campus

So I got a chance today to see a steel artifact from The World Trade Center as it stopped by the Sprint Campus on its way to the Overland Park Fire Training memorial.  I captured a couple pictures and a video of it leaving.

On Monday, July 25, Overland Park campus occupants will have the opportunity to see an artifact from the World Trade Center, as it makes a stop at MIQ Logistics, LLC, an OP campus tenant. MIQ is managing the project logistics of transporting a steel beam that was extracted from the World Trade Center destruction to a memorial site at the Overland Park Fire Training Center.

After travelling from the Port of New York, a police and fire department convoy will escort the beam through campus, pausing at MIQ’s Overland Park campus headquarters (11501 Outlook) at approximately 10 a.m., before moving to the Overland Park Fire Training memorial site at 12401 Hemlock.

It was something to see that big piece of steel and think about how it has such a historical place in our country. I always enjoy getting to witness first hand people or items that were part of something that defines us, our history, or our future.
