One Of My Favorite Moments From Series 5 Of Doctor Who
One of my favorite moments from Doctor Who this past season was when they take Vincent to the present to let him see the effect he has had with his artwork. This was from the episode "Vincent and the Doctor".
I always enjoy watching it and will admit it warms my geeky heart a little bit everytime i watch it.
The Doctor: I just wondered, between you and me, in a hundred words, where do you think Van Gogh rates in the History of Art?
Dr. Black: Well, um, big question. But, uh, to me, Van Goph is the finest painter in the world. Certainly the most popular great painter of all time, the most beloved. His command of colors most magnificent. He transformed the pain of his tormented life into ecstatic beauty. Pain is easy to portray, but to use your passion and pain to portray the ecstasy and joy and magnificence of our world, no one had ever done that before. Perhaps no one ever will again. To my mind, that strange wild man, who roamed the fields of Provance, not only the world’s greatest artist, but also one of the greatest men who ever lived.
The Doctor: Vincent? Sorry, I’m sorry, is it too much?
Vincent: No, they’re tears of joy. [Hugs and kisses Dr. Black] Thank you sir, thank you!
Dr. Black: You’re welcome. You’re welcome.
Vincent: Sorry about the beard.
