TweetNewz : Bringing Feeds,Twitter, And The Social Web Together

A new service launched today called TweetNewz which allows you to bring your news, rss feeds, and even your google reader subscriptions to your desktop as a news ticker, share with others, and find out what others are saying.

from the website:
TweetNewz Desktop, a news aggregator, desktop ticker, and twitter client, keeps readers connected to the news and content they love. TweetNewz Desktop integrates Twitter functionality. With TweetNewz Desktop you can instantly post tweets about blogs, articles and events to Twitter and view Twitter, and you can view Twitter social commentary around your favorite Newz*. Now your commentary or story can become as viral as Twitter itself.

Based on open source application snackr TweetNewz is a small air app that lets you customize to your likings.

Some highlights of the application include:

* Elegant ticker design with ability to dock on any side of your desktop
* Stay current with all your favorite news and content via one click
* Tweet about articles with friends and colleagues
* Ability to synchronize with Google Reader
* Only delivers content and information that is relevant to your interests
* Simplifies the news aggregation process
* It is FREE!

Overall I think this is a kool application that lets you see your news and feeds scroll on your desktop while you are working and when you see a story you want to share  just click on the story, read it, then tweet it for all to see.  (you can also email it, share it on facebook, add it to del.icio.us as well as digg).

Today before the launch  I talked to the devolopment team and they are very open to hearing what the users want (took some of my suggestions and made them live).  So feel free to drop them a comment on the webiste or shoot me one and I will make sure your comments are heard.
