Optimus Prime and the Transformers feel the effects of the Energy Crisis. This was just to good to not post! Enjoy.
Ok this was just too kool to pass up! A great fan made trailer for a Thundercats movie. Now will we ever see an actual Thundercats movie? Who knows but I bet it won’t be as sweet as this trailer. Check it out!
Taking some time out of my day to wish all the readers of my blog a Happy Festivus!
[Festivus]
One of my favorite shows on tv these days is The Big Bang Theory on CBS and one of my favorite (and humorous) scenes was last week when Sheldon got the greatest gift he could ever get….A napkin used by Leonard Nimoy! hehe
Right before Halloween I got the chance to check out a new concept by AMC Theatres called “Fork And Screen” which brings the concept of movie night to a new level.
Now for AMC they saw a way to help promote their brand as well as promote a new product by reaching out to the blogosphere here in Kansas City and it appears that it worked great for them.
I asked Justin Gardner the other day how the new concept was working and he came back with “It’s actually been going extremely well both from an operational and promotional standpoint.”
For me this is a great example of a company taking their brand, using social media to promote, and then seeing the success. Just an example I went to the tour/free screening and loved it, I therefore in turn blogged, tweeted, and took video to share with everyone about my experience and then the next day went to a local tech event and talked about the new kool setup AMC was bring to the public.
Great job AMC and great job at using social media (something more companies need to do). Below is a list of links from other local bloggers so check those out and see social media at work.

Found a great way to get your blog posts hitting the FriendFeed service in record time using the services Simple Update Protocol or SUP!
SUP (Simple Update Protocol) is a simple and compact “ping feed” that web services can produce in order to alert the consumers of their feeds when a feed has been updated. This reduces update latency and improves efficiency by eliminating the need for frequent polling.
FriendFeed blog post on SUP
I initially found out about this from Josh Haley, a Wordpress plugin (WP-SUP), as well as a little video put together by Benjamin Golub.
known issue : apparently there is an issue if you use Feedburner where it is stripping the tags that are added by the plugin..so just so you know that.
Ok with that said I am gonna give the SUP a try with this post. If all works right it should post right away to FriendFeed. 3, 2, 1…..
I think this has to be a first for me at least and maybe the first on twitter. But I was just reading the live tweeting of a plane crash that took place in Denver yesterday.
The tweets came from Mike Wilson (@2drinksbehind). First let me say Mike we are glad you are ok and second this shows how technology and the web are bringing a more personable feel as well as a real time look at events as they happen.
