Today Corvida from SheGeeks gave me the opportunity to do a guest post on her awesome (or awesomesauce) blog.

I was thankful for the chance and went ahead and wrote about the new integration of seesmic video comments within your disqus comments. For the title I went with a play on words - “Visually Disqus’n - Disqus Integrates Seesmic” - thought that was good.

If you are gonna call yourself a true geek one person you have to be aware of or know of is Tron Guy! He is an internet classic. Current TV recently did a video segment on him getting a little information about him, the tron guy story, and his recent trip to ROFLcon.

Well last week we had invite Monday and it was a huge success so this week I thought I would be crazy and go for invite Tuesday (i know crazy!). Well I am up and about early this Saturday morning as I am gonna be heading out soon to barcampkc. I created a tumblr blog to help capture some of what is going on throughout the day and as a matter of fact I see pictures from the meetup last night have hit the site (just tag photos ‘barcampkc’ and they should show up on the site).

update : also if you use hashtags on twitter if you post and add ‘#barcampkc’ your twitter should show up on the tumblelog as well.

So go check out barcampkc.tumblr.com if you are unable to attend live or just looking for some information.  And if you have any media (like video’s) of the event let me know and we can get those loaded up as well.

I am a huge user of Google Reader, Shared Items, Linkblogs, and so on and have been really happy with services like RSSmeme and Readburner that are taking users shared items from google reader and making some great sites in the social news arena…better then sites like digg and mixx in my opinion.

My issue so far though with both of these services has been which do I give my most time to?  Do I use both?  It has been a tough question….but I have to say RSSmeme has taken the lead as of late due to their addition of notes (a new feature within google reader) and also RSSmeme allows you to create a custom rss feed of stories shared via your friends on friendfeed which I think is a really kool little feature to have.

update: as I am writing this post I see where benjamin (who created rssmeme) is looking for someone to write a wordpress plugin that will pull all of the notes for an article out of RSSmeme and onto your blog.

As I mentioned yesterday in my video post I just wanted to again thank the gang over at Disqus for the schwag they sent me yesterday. Always kool to get some schwag from a service that you use and really really like. I will wear it with pride.

I have really enjoyed using disqus and cant praise it enough…if from the service itself to the great community/support that is provided.

If you get a chance to add it to your blog or sign up for an account do it…I think it is an awesome service to bring comments a life of their own.

Put this little video togather talking about schwag I got from disqus today, the new podcast The Social Geeks, and BarcampKC which is coming up this weekend. Not sure what was us with the lightness/darkness but it is tolerable. Enjoy
